Counsel Online

 Please note David's schedule is typically full but if you don't mind being on a waiting list, he'll contact you when he has an opening.  

When in a county that does not permit retired expats to engage in any work, volunteer or otherwise, David is available for friendly conversations, informally called "counsel," with friends met on Quora or other media, and never receives personal payment of any kind.  Instead, friends are invited to make a donation directly to a local charity he supports.

Regulations on counseling differ from country to country throughout the world, and may be considered provision of a health care service requiring local licensure. This is true in the United States and Canada, where David does not provide even informal counsel.  

If you are inquiring about online counsel, please be sure to provide your location and relevant (non-private) information when you contact us.  Please also be aware that David is on Indochina Time, which may impact scheduling at a convenient time for you.    

David prefers regularly scheduled sessions, typically weekly for a period of time, vs. ad-hoc counsel, although these are possible.  Ad-hoc counsel is educational in nature, providing general information, is not psychotherapy or the provision of any health care service.  David may be able to provide such counsel in all countries, including North America. 

Due to time constraints, David is not able to provide counsel through email, text, or other written correspondence.

David provides these services free of charge, but requests that users make what they feel is an appropriate donation between $50 USD and $150 USD to a grass-roots charity he supports, for each scheduled 50 minute video session,  or extended. written consultation.

In case of financial hardship, the minimum donation is $35 USD, no need to explain the hardship.
